We had lots of fun with children from a school in Oldham in the woods this week, making fire and shelters as well as looking at some real stone age tools. This session was funded by Heritage Lottery Fund as part of the “celebrating our woodland heritage” project led by Pennine Prospects
Go Wild with NatureEd this Saturday 23rd June at Sale Water Park, an event organised by city of trees for more information click here
These EYESpy Heritage Trails are fun activities for exploring some of Rochdale’s great parks, these include Balderstone Park (Rochdale Township), Harehill Park (Pennines Township) and Queens Park (Heywood Township)
Using photo clues and good observational skills to find fascinating features hidden around the park, this is a first step into map reading and orienteering.
Suitable for everyone from families to school and youth groups, there is an answer sheet and notes for the leaders and an activity photo sheet and map to download for each participant. Available to download.
These trails and maps were produced by NatureEd CIC with Funding from Rochdale Township, Heywood Township and Pennine Townships. Packs have been given to Friends groups and libraries of each Park. Graphics by CSdesigns.
From October 2018 a New Rings of Change workshop is available at Healey Dell Nature Reserve with limited FREE sessions to pilot the new activity. This workshop has been developed by NatureEd cic as part of Pennine Prospects Celebrating our Woodland Heritage project with funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund and Newground Together.
